People Against Rape Responds to Governor Haley’s Veto of Funding for Rape Crisis Centers

I am writing you to ask that you support our local rape crisis center, People Against Rape, by overriding Governor Haley’s Veto 51.  If the $453,680 is cut from the DHEC budget, it will result in a 37% cut to all rape crisis centers in South Carolina.   People Against Rape is the oldest rape crisis center in our state.  They served over 700 victims of sexual assault in 2011.  In addition, their Educator reached over 10,000 students in the Tricounty school system.  Our community must support this very worthwhile organization.

I appreciate your help and ask that you please support victims of sexual abuse and assault by overturning Veto 51.
